Happiness is a choice YOU have to make. It is a state of being only YOU can create. The amount of happiness that YOU have depends on the amount of freedom YOU have in your heart. Nobody really cares if YOU are miserable, so YOU might as well be happy. Finding happiness is like finding yourself. YOU don’t find happiness, YOU make happiness. YOU choose happiness. Self-actualization is a process of discovering who YOU are, who YOU want to be and paving the way to happiness by doing what brings YOU the most meaning and contentment to your life over the long run.
To change your happiness, change your expectation. Happiness is contagious…when YOU reflect happiness, then all others around YOU catch the happy bug and are happy, too. Happiness is when what YOU think, what YOU say, and what YOU do are in harmony. You can even be happy by appreciating your troubles because they are helping to build your character. Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy. A happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances, but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes.
Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet. I have just one day- today, and I’m going to be happy in it. Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be. Most of us believe in trying to make other people happy only if they can be happy in ways which we approve. We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have. Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.
Happiness comes only from appreciating what you have right now. Happiness is mostly a by-product of doing what makes us feel fulfilled. Lot of candles can be lighted from a single candle; the life of the candle will not be shortened. The way to be happy is to make others so. Happiness never decreases by being shared. The greatest part of our happiness depends on our dispositions, not our circumstances. Happiness is a thing to be practiced.
Happiness for me is to know that my life has meaning and purpose, and that every day my life touches others in a positive way–whether to make them laugh or learn or both at once! The more passions and desires one has, the more ways one has of being happy. Passions lead you to happiness. So not only should you discover your multiple passions, you should also expand yourself to new passions. This way you will create new ways to happiness.
The key to expanding to new passions is curiosity. If you are curious, you will have an endless stream of exciting things waiting for you. .True happiness involves the full use of one’s power and talents. First, you should find your talents and second, you should use them to the fullest. Working on your talents is a sure way to enjoy your work because it’s something you are “hardwired” to do. Using your talents fully will make you even happier because of the satisfaction of doing your best.
Happiness depends upon us. Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections.
